My granddaughter, Sydney, is in the upper room of this spooky house looking ghoulish with that scary white face. Yikes, she is scaring me. This old broken down house is about ten minutes from where I live. It is on the outskirts of Portland, TX. My daughter, Jodi, was fascinated with the house, and she thought it would make for some great photography. She did a wonderful job taking this photo.

Ketchikan was such an interesting place. The main photo is was taken at the famous Creek Street. and we saw seals frolicking in the water in this area, which was so amusing. Dolly's Place used to be a brothel from 1919 - 1950's, and is now open for tours. Dolly's famous line was, "I realized I could make a lot more money from the attentions of men than I could waiting on tables." Journaling reads: This is the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific. It was enroute from Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Harlingen, Texas, as part of Harlingen's 100th anniversary celebration. We had a great time on our balcony on the Star Princess. This was definitely a magical moment when the Star Princess met the Golden Princess in Tracy Arm Fjord (near Juneau, AK). There was a total of about 5,000 people cheering, applauding, and snapping pictures as the two ships passed. We were near the Twin Sawyer glaciers when the two ships met, which made it an even more spectacular moment. While on our Alaska Cruise, we stopped at the Port of Ketchikan. We visited the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, and had hoped to see a black bear, since the guides had been spotting them on most of the tours. Unfortunately, we did not see a bear, but saw huge opening in some of the trees, where the bears hibernated. We also saw reindeer, salmon swimming upstream, and saw some seals playing in the water. Went to see the tall ships on display for the 4th of July celebration in Ingleside, Texas. There were several one-of-a-kind ships from around the world. Very fascinating and beautiful! Dinner at Big Fisherman Restaurant in Aransas Pass, Texas with our friends, Terry and Christine from Gillingham, Kent, England. We had just enjoyed a rodeo in Goliad, and had worked up an appetite for seafood. Terry couldn't believe how much seafood was piled on his plate when the waitress brought his dinner. The Aggie Bluebonnet

After we dropped the dogs off at the groomer's early in the morning, Bill and I decided to check out the wildflowers close to home before they were gone (about 2 more weeks). We were simply amazed to see the Texas Aggie (red to maroon in color) Bluebonnet in the yard of a very nice man, who told us all about the Texas Aggie Bluebonnet. Only a Texas Aggie would dream of changing the color of the state flower, and only an Aggie could pull it off.

What a captivating memory while visiting the King Ranch in Kingsville, TX. Journaling reads: The King Ranch sprawls across 825,000 acres of South Texas land, an area larger than the state of Rhode Island. While Visiting this lovely ranch, we saw a beautiful horse with her colt, who was a newborn. We were in awe of this magnificent moment, when the colt decided to stand up, and start her new life with her mom.

This is our good friend, Terry, from England, who was visiting us the week of 3/12/10. He and Reno had a good time together each evening, and Terry would tell Reno each night that he was going to take him back to England to meet Maisy, Terry and Christine's chocolate Lab. If we can not find Reno, we will know where to look.

Port Aransas, Texas

What an adventure with Terry and Christine, our new friends from England. We went to the jetties to watch the boats, people, and pelicans, and then went to Roberts Point to watch dolphins and a lot of people fishing. Christine and Terry...... you are so much fun!

I was thrilled to see this very large alligator sunning himself at the edge of the pond as Bill and I hiked the trail at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in Austwell, Texas. He was in the perfect position for awesome photos.
